About this site

A calm, plain-English place to understand where AI is heading and how fast it is getting better.

What it is

This website has three parts. Six short guides explain the ideas, in order. A glossary defines the terms that come up, one page each. The benchmark explorer shows how the best AI scores on five hard tests have changed over time, and how they compare with people.

Who it is for

Anyone who keeps hearing about AGI and superintelligence and wants to understand the argument without the hype or the jargon. You don’t need a technical background.

How it is written

  • Plain English, Australian spelling, and no predictions dressed up as facts.
  • Where researchers disagree, the guides say so and explain both sides.
  • Every benchmark score on the site comes from a cited source. None are typed in by hand.
  • Each guide shows the month it was last reviewed.

Where the numbers come from

Benchmark scores come from Epoch AI’s Benchmarking Hub and refresh automatically each week. The methodology explains exactly how the “best score” line is worked out, and you can download the data behind every chart.

Who runs it

Hypercraft Superintelligence is owned and run by Christopher Burgess, trading as Hypercraft. We write the guides, build the site and keep it up to date.

Nothing here is sponsored. No AI developer pays to appear, or has any say in what is written.

We are also a working business. We are a local Australian team with over 30 years’ experience in development and digital marketing, and we help Australian businesses with AI SEO, AI development and AI consulting. If that is what you need, contact us and tell us about your project. That enquiry form is the only promotion on the site.
